A woman has lost both her legs and an arm in a machinery accident in southeast Queensland.

A woman has lost both her legs and an arm in a machinery accident in south-east Queensland.

The woman is believed to have been using a tractor with a 'slasher'- a large tray dragged behind the vehicle with blades to clear grass or other vegetation.

The accident happened on a property in the rural town of Ballandean, around three hours inland from Byron Bay, just before noon.

The woman, who is in her 60s, has been flown to hospital for treatment and is in a critical condition.
