Japanese lawmakers voted to keep Shigeru Ishiba as prime minister Monday, the parliament speaker said, after the premier’s ruling coalition lost its majority in an election. Ishiba won 221 votes in a run-off against Yoshihiko Noda, head of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDP), who took 160 votes.
