Russia, China say need to prevent ‘further escalation’ of Ukraine conflict: joint statement

Russia and China said Thursday the conflict in Ukraine must not be allowed to “further escalate,” in a joint statement published by the Kremlin. “The parties note the need to stop any steps that contribute to the prolongation of hostilities and further escalation of the conflict,” the statement said.
