Several people stabbed to death at festival in Germany – media

A knifeman reportedly went on a rampage in the western city of Solingen

Several people were injured, including some fatalities, after a man went on a stabbing spree during a diversity festival in the German city of Solingen, local media reported in the early hours of Saturday.

According to reports, the perpetrator attacked people at random at a festival celebrating the city’s 650th anniversary.

The newspaper Solinger Tageblatt cited sources as saying that three people have been killed and several were wounded. Eyewitnesses said the attacker had fled the scene.
