The White House confirmed on Thursday that a national security threat raised by US lawmakers involves Russia developing an anti-satellite weapon. “I can confirm that it is related to an anti-satellite capability that Russia has developed,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters, adding however that there was “no immediate threat to anyone’s safety.”
