Minnesota’s Rep. Tom Emmer emerged as the GOP nominee for Speaker of the House. The secret ballot concluded after four rounds of voting, with Emmer securing 107 votes, decisively ahead of Johnson’s 56, and leaving Donalds and Hern trailing with 25 votes apiece. Rep. Hern was officially out after the fourth round, and Rep. Donalds voluntarily dropped out of the race, according to inside sources.
